Welcome

The AOM Scholarship Fund is a division of the Trudy McAlister Foundation…

The AOM Scholarship Fund was established primarily to support students who show promise of making significant contributions either to clinical practice and/or to the understanding of the role of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) in a modern context. The Trudy McAlister Foundation is committed to supporting U.S. citizens who are students of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine who attend accredited (ACAOM) schools in the United States and are studying for their first professional degree. The Foundation also supports research and related activities that promote the advancement of AOM.

Our Scholarships

Basic support scholarships are granted to students who have completed at least one full academic year of their professional training and who, in the opinion of their faculty, advisors and the advisors of the Fund, show unusual promise in the practice of this medicine.

Support is given to students who have entered the last phases of their clinical training or who have undertaken post-graduate studies in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and who are, in the opinion of their faculty and the fund advisors, most likely to:

  1. Contribute to the successful integration of Oriental medicine into modern medicine,
  2. Ensure that such integration preserves the historical and classic character, philosophy and practice of Oriental medicine as it is integrated into this modern context.

Support

All of the Foundation’s funds for supporting students comes from the public. This means that individuals, groups, colleges, institutions and organizations can donate to the Foundation. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS under donations to 501(c)(3) public charities.
